| May 2 - Urbanautica.com recently featured my Detroit - Unbroken Down project accompanied with a interview. Look for it under the "Phototalks" heading. April 14 - My Detroit - Unbroken Down project is featured over at www.socialdocumentary.net. The portfolio has received over 900 hits the first two weeks it went live, breaking the record for the number of visits for a single portfolio featured there. Check it out. March 26 - A portfolio of recent work from my Detroit, Unbroken Down series was selected by the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago to be included in their Midwest Photographers Project. I'm very proud to be a part of this institutions ongoing support of local and reginal talent. The portfolio will remain in the museum's collection for two years and be accessible to collectors, curators, scholars, students and faculty of Columbia College. February 4 - Two pieces from my Terra-Caelum series are on exhibit at the Newspace Center for Photography's Annual Competition, juried by Laura Valenti and titled "This Good Earth". If in Portland, OR this month check out the show. It's getting rave reviews. December 28 - I'm please to announce that I've been invited to be a guest juror for Vermont Photo Space Gallery's uncoming exhibition titled "Human Artifact". Entry deadline is January 18, 2011 so get your entry in! November 1 - Andy Adams from FlakPhoto has graciously included me in this years Night Gallery, part of FotoWeek DC's weekly activities. Titled 100 Portraits 100 Photographers, images will be projected on the exterior walls of several prominent Washington DC buildings. October 9 - I'd like to give a big thanks to Sarah Hadley, www.sarahhadley.com, from Chicago Filter Photo, www.filterphoto.org for inviting me to be a guest lecturer at their Friday night event, and all the people who came out to hear me talk. The turnout was impressive and it all went off without a hitch. September 27 - Just released is a new book I'm proud to be a part of titled "Migration, Lost and Found in America". Concieved by Donald McCrea and published by Michael Weise Productions, the book is a visual road trip across the United States and features the work of: Alex Harris / Bill Sosin / Dave Jordano / David Schalliol / David Zaitz / Donald McCrea / EdwardBurtynsky / Jerry Downs / Joe Burull / Kenneth Jarecke / Mark Indig / Peter Granser / Susana Raab / Travis Ruse / William Greiner / Will Steacy. They Are: Michael Mazzeo Gallery in NYC is showing "Recent Developments". "Terra Caelum", landascapes from my Prairieland Project and Eric William Carroll's "Speed of Dark" diazotypes. The show is appropriately titled "Faith" and includes work by Chris Churchill, Jennifer Hudson, myself, Bill Vacarro, and Eben Ostby. The show runs through November 5th. www.raykophoto.com The new Detroit Center for Contemporay Photography is having it's third exhibition this year. Titled "Unbroken Down", it includes work by Jeniffer O'Keefe, Mark Stimac, and myself. The work explores the idea of travel and how these three artists use the idea of movement to create their specific bodies of work. I am showing new work that was produced this summer while making several visits back to my home town, Detroit. The show opens on Oct 2nd and runs through Oct. 30th. Please visit www.detroitccp.org. And lastly, the Environmental Law and Policy Center in Chicago is hosting an exhibition curated by David Travis, former curator of the Photography Department at The Art Institiute of Chicago. The show highlights photographs that depict the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and includes work by such notables as Bob Thall, Terry Evans, Scott Fortino, Jin Lee, Ron Gordon, David Travis, and others. August 6 - The NYT Lens blog has featured a piece about my Prairieland Project. The article was wirtten by the very talented Susana Raab, a noted documentary photographer based in Washington DC., www.susanaraab.com.
